What are the criteria for admission in MBBS and BDS classes?

The admission process will start in August/September 2021. Following are the eligibility criteria for admission in MBBS and BDS for Session 2021-2022

ELIGIBILITY

• A candidate must have passed F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) or equivalent examination having a minimum of twelve years of education with a minimum of 65% marks from any Board or University or must have passed, obtaining a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate in an examination of a course from a foreign university or examining body or foreign education system with at least three science subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics and certified by the inter-Boards Committee of Chairman (IBCC) as equivalent to higher secondary school certificate (HSSC) or F.Sc. intermediate level of Pakistan.
• A candidate must have appeared in the Entrance Test (MDCAT) with 65% marks according to PMC/UHS admission policy.

For Foreign or Overseas Students

• A student who does not hold a Pakistan nationality, or holds dual nationality, or is an overseas or a non-resident Pakistan citizen and has obtained their HSSC or equivalent 12^th-grade qualification from outside Pakistan with three subjects out of which Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics are mandatory subjects with 65% aggregate as a certificate by IBCC in the above terms shall be accepted in aggregate and the candidate shall be eligible for admission in the MBBS/BDS course with any study group whichever the IBCC may write. It shall be the responsibility of the candidate to get equivalence certificates from IBCC, Islamabad for recognition of his/her qualification.
• A candidate must have passed 65% of the Entrance Test (MDCAT) Examination conducted by the National Medical Authority (i.e. PMC).

 

MERIT CALCULATION FOR MBBS:

The merit list is arranged by a weightage formula as under

• (Pre-Medical)/ HSSC / Equivalent (60%) (Science subjects only)
• Admission Test (MDCAT) (20%)
• Test to be conducted by the college (20%) (Admission test will not be conducted. All eligible Applicants will be awarded full marks of admission test in formulating college merit)
  • Understanding of English language
  • Aptitude test for Medical Education

 

MERIT CALCULATION FOR BDS:

The merit list is arranged by a weightage formula as under

• (Pre-Medical)/ HSSC / Equivalent (50%) ( Science subjects only )
• Admission Test (MDCAT) (25%)
• Test to be conducted by the college (25%) (Admission test will not be conducted. All eligible Applicants will be awarded full marks of admission test in formulating college merit)
  • Understanding of English language
  • Aptitude test for Medical Education

 

NOTE:   LMDC will follow the admission policy of PMC/UHS. The Change in the above-mentioned admission criteria is done as per Admission Regulation 2021 announced by Pakistan Medical Commission on 4^th June 2021. Furthermore, any change if needed, in admission policy by the concerned regulatory authorities shall be implemented even after the admission forms have been submitted.

The Session usually starts in January/ February depending upon the declaration of the result of FSc. (Pre-medical) by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. The admission process will start in August/ September every year and advertisements will come in the leading dailies. Applications from the eligible candidates are invited on the prescribed online form separately for 1^st Year MBBS and BDS.

There are three working days to submit the required fee.

There is a body called Inter Board Committee of Chairmen, which organizes and gives equivalence to candidates who have passed A-level or 12^th Grade or any other examination equivalent to Intermediate Level. We accept only an IBCC equivalence certificate for admission.
