Profile Summary
Prof. Dr. Usama Ijaz Bajwa serves as Dean, Faculty of Computing at the Lahore University of Biological and Applied Sciences (UBAS), where he leads the establishment of the university's first computing programs in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. He brings more than twenty four years of academic, research, and industry leadership experience, including a tenured professorship at COMSATS University Islamabad and an executive role leading machine learning product development at Persivia Inc. His research expertise spans Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Medical Imaging, Natural Language Processing, and Biometrics, supported by more than sixty journal publications and research funding exceeding PKR 49 million. He has supervised extensive graduate research across these domains and has received multiple Best University Teacher Awards. Dr. Bajwa is a Certified Entrepreneurial Coach and serves as a Program Evaluator for the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC).
