MR. USMAN UMER

Usman Umer is an AI researcher, lecturer, and data scientist with combined academic and industry experience in computer vision, deep learning, and data science. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Computing at the Lahore University of Biological and Applied Sciences (UBAS), while also pursuing a PhD in Data Science at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, building on an MS in Data Science from the Information Technology University (ITU) and a BS in Software Engineering from COMSATS University Islamabad. His research focus centers on computer vision and deep learning, with particular interest in human activity recognition, biometrics and face recognition, explainable AI, and medical AI applications. Over the years, he has taught at multiple universities, including the University of Lahore and the University of South Asia, where he delivered courses in artificial intelligence and data science while supervising numerous student research and final year projects. He also brings hands on industry experience as a data scientist, adding a practical dimension to his academic and research work. His key achievements include contributing to peer reviewed publications in his field and consistently mentoring students toward impactful careers in AI and data science.
